Welcome Steph
I do go to NA. Sometimes AA, as I have made friends in that fellowship as well. I work steps with a sponsor, I go to meetings…through working steps, and also having this new network of people to talk to, I am doing it!! I don’t know how to do it otherwise, because I’m not the kind of person that can handle the loneliness. For me, the help of others in the fellowship, taking their advice, talking to someone when I’m feeling down….but especially the steps…that is what takes my urge to drink away. I have a happiness inside me today at only 4 months sober. I had 8 years before, and stopped doing it this way, and I relapsed. It took me 12 years to come back, but I’m doing the thing!!! I hope you find a way too!
I go to general recovery support groups that allow cross-talk and are a bit more conversational. They’ve worked wonders for me
