Hello all, while I have been 12 days sober I haven’t been to a meeting yet. I have been doing my reading and going over step work with my temp sponsor. However I am attending my first meeting on Sunday night (closest open to my area) and was wondering if anyone could provide insight as to how they go? Very general question, but any responses would be appreciated! Thank you

What kind of meeting is it? Is it a speaker meeting or a discussion meeting?

You can comment if you feel like it, or you can pass and just listen. You don't have to do anything you don't wanna do. Don't worry about steps, the big book or anything, just get the feel of the place and intro yourself.

So how did first meeting go?
It was nerve wracking walking into the room, but the nerves didn’t last long. It was inspiring hearing people’s stories and I got myself a sponsor who has been sober for 7 1/2 years! She had me attended a women’s meeting last night and I am going back to another meeting tonight!
