Martin, many of us had to lose everyone and everything before we surrendered to sobriety.
If i could’ve quit or controlled my drinking and drugging before I lost everything, I’d still be partying!!!
Actually I had to lose it all multiple times before I finally surrendered to the winning side/sobriety. I wish I did it 10 years sooner, but I’m just glad I finally did. 16 years of sobriety and grateful.
I’m here if you want to talk

It’s not pointless. Your life took an unexpected turn. Just keep going. You never know what’s ahead.

Hi Martin, I can very much relate to your situation and I know how incredibly difficult it is, but it is possible to turn this around and to create a fulfilling life with purpose. Please seek professional help. Detox and rehab REALLY helped me. There are a lot of resources available. The way out is through and upwards. I don’t know if there’s a way to DM me here, but I’m up for talking if you think that would help

It will get better, believe it or not. Quit drinking and you might even get everything back, better than ever. Do everything you can, fight for life. Maybe get in IOP recovery classes, you can do them online. And counseling. U a quitter?
We got your back. You can do it, fighter!!!

Yeah Im in IOP I have a peer coach I've done the IRT program. I've been trying for a few years now. My DOC isn't booze but that's besides the point. I see where it can take losing everything to turn something like addiction around. Thank you guys, I appreciate it and I'm trying. I'll get back to where I need to be just trying to let myself feel the emotions instead of pushing them away.

Sorry to hear Martin. For us it all starts with keeping sober. If we stay in recovery we can start repairing our lives. I hope you have sober support. Try to be patient. It might not happen exactly how you want, but it will be worth your effort
