Food cravings?!

Since I have not been drinking I keep having all these food cravings…is this normal?! WTH!! Please let me know if this happened to anyone and when it stopped! It’s like my body/mind is looking to fill the void of having Alcohol or something :weary: Clearly it’s better to eat than drink the poison but I have really looking forward to shedding some pounds too & now I’m getting nervous that will be an issue :woman_facepalming:t3::pig:

It’s normal. Maybe join a gym to work off food. Sweets is a big one also. Gives you the same feeling as drinking in the brain. Your body is gonna go through changes. You’ll get it figured out eventually. Just don’t use and it will get better.

It’s all normal especially sweets. But it is so nice to have and appreciate taste buds again. I found I had a taste for so many things I had forgotten about or just quit caring about. My kids sure like having me back and being chef on demand. Especially because I usually don’t say no now to anything but a drink.

Ugh..well I’m happy it’s normal but I hope I’m not becoming a food addict now. :woman_facepalming:t3: lol

I was thinking it will probably pass as my body adjusts…plus god only know how many extra empty calories I was consuming.. Maybe my body is looking for those extra calories, although it doesn’t NEED them. I am allowing it for now but it will be cut off soon too if this continues!

I have gym membership and I will be going back soon too. That is a passion of mine that I lost along the way. I know myself and I neeeed to eat healthy and work out to feel good!

All the best, A. Yep, ‘‘tis normal…sending along some encouragement from a person who just had her fourth consecutive Reese’s peanut butter cup ( well, post soup and gobs of water ).:tada::tada::tada:

Reeeeeses are my faaaav! :yum: Thank goodness I am good about drinking water…I’m like a professional water drinker & pottier lol. One saving grace thankfully! Hopefully these food cravings will subside but for now I’m allowing it.

Peanut M&Ms. I NEVER had a sweet tooth, then suddenly about 4 months in BAM, those little jerks worked their way into my life. Smug little idiots. Just sitting there all peautty and M&M'y and all.

I know I’m about to pound White Castle like I’m living in a 3rd world country. It’s very tough to do the right thing diet wise

A, yes, there’s the cravings. Chocolate is mine and sometimes I feel I NEED it! Then I remind myself that I’m not craving alcohol that way and go for a run before my chocolate fix. No guilt, just another day of sobriety

I avoid the scale like the plague lol. Better to rolly polly than drunk as a skunk. Round I am lol

Mind over matter and God over both. The unhealthy eating has got to go along with the drinking.

Thank you all for assuring me it’s “normal.” Like I said…I’ll give it about another week and if it doesn’t start to subside, it will be forced! Lol I have been wanting to do a juice cleanse for a while bc it flushes the system and literally reboots it. Addiction or not- the more we give ourselves certain thing, the more our bodies crave it. I have done it a few times before but years ago. Lots of work making the juices & have to be very disciplined to do it— I’m not quite there just yet! 5 diff juices a day.. It’s in my near future! If anyone else is interested I can share the information with you :upside_down_face:
