For Females Only

Good Evening Ladies,

So, I am officially 31 days alcohol free and completely done on a whim. I was drinking about a liter a day for over 3 years and my health and appearance were being negatively impacted and I woke up one day and hated the way I looked and stopped drinking.

I haven’t had any serious complications or withdraws, I’ve lost 15 lbs in the past 31 days, which has definitely motivated me to stay dry. HOWEVER the point of this post is….my period has not started. It is approximately 7 days late and I am NOT pregnant (that would require intimacy that I am not having). My cycle has always been normal as well. I was curious if any other females experienced a delay in their period as well during the first few months of their sobriety?

Thank you!!

Definitely could be  haven't experienced that myself but I imagine your body is going through all kinds of rebuilding and reestablishing cycles...curious to see what others experiences have been for sure!

I would suspect it could be a combination of the weight loss, stress from quitting drinking, and the detoxing your body is going through. 15 lbs is really significant in 31 days. Your body is probably just working on regulating itself out. Be mindful of fueling your body with good nutrients and I would suspect that it will regulate itself out.

UPDATE: It started the night of the post and was normal! I’ll post another update to let you all know if it regulated back to 28 days!
