For me, it’s never the social situations. I’m a musician. I am in the thick of it all the time. I have no problems playing music in bars with a bunch of people drinking their asses off, including my bandmates. Who are coincidentally very supportive of my recovery.
It is literally the alone time. I will repeat. It is the alone time. That is what I have been working on for 10 years. Getting better at it. It is a perpetual work in progress, stay strong everyone and reach out to others in sobriety, no matter where they are at. We can all use the support system.
