For the AA Folks

Why doesn’t AA mention Our Savior Lord Jesus Christ who died on the cross for my sins?

Because AA isn't church.

In the meetings I’ve been to, God is the higher power.

If Jesus worked for people to get sober, AA wouldn't be needed.

We are to except God as we understand him.. myself I except Jesus Christ as my savior but some just want to except something being out there that they don’t admit it being our God.. me personally I have to believe that Jesus Christ is keeping me in line.. that He and only Him gives me the strength to get thru each day.. and in my opinion and faith there’s no one else that can do that for me.. I know there’s nothing or nobody that’s of this earth that can do that for me.. me personally I don’t know what else anyone else can think that could do that for them.. it was taught to me early on that AA was a spiritual program.. but that didn’t mean it was church but I believe have to have your own relationship with God.. I know my relationship is not the same as it was from when I was a kid.. as I’ve gotten older my relationship is different.. everyone has to worship God in their own way..

AA is an open forum for those of any belief to come achieve sobriety. We are a spiritual program not religious. We are there to get sober, help others get sober and keep sober. I’d recommend reading the first 164 pages of the AA book, it explains where we come from from a spiritual standpoint
