I've tried to get on the train for so long and haven't had much luck but then I broke my foot and couldn't work. Now I'm sober... LOL. I'm not exactly happy about it because it means I can't afford food either. But I am somewhat proud of myself? I think it's been a week and a few days but I'm not counting yet because for me it doesn't even matter until it's past the 2-week point

Hi Elizabeth.... I hope you have a speedy recovery and that is a funny story "forced sobriety" in my book sober is sober. Download "everything AA" app and listen to the joe & Charlie sessions. They are entertaining and educator's about AA. And they touch on how awesome a sober life can be!!! You're off to a great start, tho. Hopefully one day at a time you stay sober.

Elizabeth thanks for sharing. I think these things happen for a reason. It took me a long time to realize and I put myself through the wringer too many times. But I’m super grateful I finally just stayed sober.
It is the easier and funner way to live.

Indeed, God works in mysterious ways. I got sober after losing the ability to walk for a while too

Keep moving forward 
Talk to other women. Go on online AA meetings if you have to.
Most of us have to lose everything, rock bottom, to get clean. Bring the bottom up to you and do the right thing.
Get a woman to sponsor you

I was sober 7 years after being forced into sobriety. Sometimes forced sobriety comes from God. In His love for us, He disciplines us in Love
