Found out today that a very close friend passed away. My friend was also in recovery. Iā€™m so very heartbroken :broken_heart:

Very sorry to hear that Becca. I lost someone to the disease while i was still in treatment. Unfortunately, the longer you are on the road of sobriety you lose friends along the way. :pray:t2::pray:t2:

So sorry for your loss.
I don't know how your friend passed. But I do know that if you stick around AA long enough it is one of the unfortunates that you will hear about from time to time.

The main objective of
any addiction is death. I've known many people through the years who lost their life due to this disease.

Go to a meeting and stay close to people in the program. And no matter how bad you feel remember that it's not bad enough to pick up the first drink.
