Friday's and memories πŸ‘€

Fridays used to be what I looked forward to. After working hard all week we would get off as early as possible Friday afternoon. Rush home, shower, get dressed, pack up the guitars, hit the booze store, pick up whatever " extra help " we needed and go straight to the house we always partied at. I don't ever remember getting bored with that routine. As unhealthy as living that life fully addicted to drugs and alcohol was I do still miss the " looking forward to Fridays. 🫀

Awe yes I remember fondly the anticipation
I had to create new ways to get the β€œhigh”. There are an infinite amount of things to explore and find. Life can be adventure if I want it to be.
If I’m bored it’s because I’m boring😁

Oh yeah!!! The days of old. I would anticipate starting Monday what I would drink Friday and how I would eat health up until that time and then destroy my body with poison all weekend. NO MO!!! JUST FOR TODAY

Exactly

Dion, I feel that. Why dont you create a new Friday routine to look fwd to? Maybe go play the guitar at a retirement home or something equally fulfilling? Just a thought

Great advice. Thank you

Yeah, NP, I just hate to see you lose something that you look forward to. Especially after all that hard work. And Friday should be celebrated!

Right on :+1: Thank you

Anybody look forward to how Mondays felt after those weekends ?

Hey Dion and everyone! It think it’s natural to miss some of those moments especially when they were tied to routines we looked forward to. However it’s important to remember, what we were really chasing wasn’t the joy of Fridays but the escape that came with it. Now that we’re in recovery, we have the chance to create new things to look forward toβ€”ones that don’t come with the damage or the hangover. Fridays can still be great even without all that. It’s all about building new routines that bring you joy and fulfillment.
