Alcoholism almost killed me. 16 years ago this month, I was in an emergency room with a blood alcohol of .38 several hours after I had stopped drinking. I shouldn't be here.
Sobriety has not only kept me alive, it has given me my life back. It's not a perfect life. I still struggle and I still have to fight my demons.
But then there are days when I am rewarded for fighting the good fight and showing myself what I am capable of.
