Grateful today for the 5 year old, 43 pound gift of my sobriety. 7 years ago, I got sober, 6 years ago this week (at age 39) I got pregnant with my 4th human… not on purpose 
As it turned out, she is one of the greatest gifts in my sober life this far. Instead of doing pre-school this past year… we went on Road Trips. The picture below is her first visit to The Grand Canyon. We traveled to 8 states and put over 15k miles on my truck and it was Priceless. NONE OF THIS would have been possible without sobriety, recovery, meetings, sober sisters & brothers, and 12 steps. I knew, for a fact, that my life would be better sans alcohol. But I NEVER could have fathomed how spectacularly beautiful my life would become. This little human is my light & my love and I am SO grateful.
She’s off to kindergarten next week and I’m a mess of emotion. Planning to go to some extra meetings to keep my head in a safe space.
