Give me strength, 1st sober concert
Sounds fun! You'll remember it all.
I sure will!
You got this Melissa! Those is first of many concerts.
All the best.
How was it? Who did you see?
You should read my post from this morning as a side note, but this is how I’d describe it: it was at Red Rocks, Umphrey’s McGee who are some of the most talented musicians in the music scene. I pull up to the scene I knew I would see, tailgating, beer drinking, kids all happy and buzzed. I took a deep breath and got out. Made it to our seats. I decided to just watch and observe. Those happy buzzed people went from giddy to either tired or wasted. It smelled like stale beer by the end. The show was insane. I was tired by the end, drove home sober, got awesome sleep and it was eye opening. All the years I did that to myself, my family and friends at events and at home, that was me. And I felt that deeply. So proud, so remorseful and so bright today, albeit a bit teary.
Nice job getting thru it. Hope you were able to enjoy it! I’m heading to a rock concert tonight…Joan Jett, Poison, Def Leppard, and Motley Crew. It’s going to be insane! I hope to be able to get out of my head and not focus on all the drinking and smoking so I can totally enjoy the moment. I’ve done a lot of things like this sober, but I have a hard time getting out of head and feeling connected without substances
