My advice is at the reception. Be vigilant go talk to the servers or the kitchen and make sure there’s no alcohol in the food, the pasta and shrimp, the meat. - Be vigilant about picking up the wrong glass if you’re drinking Gingerale or club soda - Enjoy other people having fun though know your boundaries. Have fun yourself.

Keep a bottle of water in your HAND. SAY THAT YOU HAVE TO take care of yourself because of being uncomfortable. Do what you need to do. Be HONEST and Accountable for your SOBRIETY. WE CAN GO ANYWHERE ON THIS PLANET IF WE ARE IN FIT SPIRITUAL CONDITION

Don’t do it. Run while you can. A divorce is going to cost you a lot more than walking away from marriage. (LOL!!)

I worked in the Food and Beverage industry when I first got sober. Saw it. Handled it. Served it poured it. Smelled it. (Ever been behind the bar before it opens?....smells of beer, wine and old mixed drinks past).

It was my job. Had to go to company functions where drinking was the norm. It was my job.

Hardly anybody cares what you are drinking. Those that do....well, that's another story, isn't it?

Don't worry about what to tell people. Just order your club soda or ginger ale. If you have a drink in your hand nobody will notice what it is.
If someone passes you a shot(s); say, "No thanks." It's a complete sentence, it requires no explanation. If someone presses you, say, "Not today, thanks. " and walk away. No lengthy explanation required. You don't owe anyone a justification for not drinking.

If you absent-mindedly set your club soda down somewhere and then realize you put it somewhere; don't go looking for it...just go get a fresh one. It's not worth the risk of grabbing the wrong drink and getting a mouthful of booze. (Or that there are some "pranksters" that think it's funny spiking other people drinks....it happens).

If you find yourself uncomfortable, use you phone list and call someone in the program. Push come to shove, leave. ( You did make sure you have an out and aren't dependent on riding with someone else, right?) Uber out if you need to.

Just some hints based on experience.
