Going to be stuck inside for the next couple days

I’ve been sober for a couple weeks now, but I can hear myself start to make excuses to drink. I’ll be off the next couple nights, and there’s a heat wave right now so I’ll be staying home with not much to do. If I can make it to Friday night, I’ll be good, because I have a hike early Saturday morning.

It’s the boredom that is super hard for me too. I haven’t found a good way to overcome that. Have you?

Do some volunteer work, or if there is a park with ducks near You, feed them.

Robert and Jon:
Don't be bored ! Go to meetings, especially if you're feeling shaky. For most of my time in sobriety I went to at least one meeting a day. I'm 72 now and admit I don't go as often. But I have a home group and try to be there 2x each week and I usually make a noon meeting. Meetings saved me. I made sure I was in service to others. I have scores and scores of good, solid friends in AA. During Covid-19 I did Zoom meetings. When I had cancer last year, I called at least 2-5 people daily. We have to work at sobriety. I worked really harder at drinking, trust me. AA is truly the easier, softer way.:latin_cross::heart::hugs:
