Takes a lot of strength and courage to do what you’re doing!!

Dianne, you’re making the best decision of your life. And the the first in AA, admitting we have a problem.
I love AA. It’s helped me so much. I now have a loving higher power of my understanding, GOD.
I’m here if you need support.

Thank you

I appreciate that. It’s scary. My family don’t know I have been battling this demon for a long long time.

Welcome Dianne, I completely understand. Sometimes the unknown can be scary. For me the unknown is a blessing. As I put myself in uncomfortable situations in recovery the more I grow as an individual.
Positive thoughts in ones mind is a must. There’s nothing that’s going to get you in treatment. You’ll be safe in there. Best place to get sober. You can do this. Ask God for guidance.
As for your family not knowing, when you feel like it’s the right time to tell them then do so. Being honest with yourself and the world is a big step towards recovery. One day at a time. First things first.

As someone who just got out of medical detox from alcoholism, it was the best decision I have ever made! I start IOP the day that I got out. I love it and haven’t been this happy and content in years. Good luck! You can do this

That’s my plan as well, the IOP

Good luck. Make sure to take advantage of every resource they have. Build a support system.

One thing is admit you have a problem, but dig deeper there’s usually a underlying problem that has to be addressed also

Congrats and the best of wishes it will work if you work the program

Thank you so much

This is like a whole new world I’m going to be entering into. Scary but excited as well.

I completely understand. Jump in with both feet! You got this! Be open mind. Listen to those who have recovered. Take notes.
