Going to the liquor store with my dad ( who doesn’t know how hard stopping drinking has been for me ) to help pick out some non-alcoholic beer I hope I can stay grounded.
If you ever feel the need to talk through a store run let me know. My situation is the same. My mom loves with me and becomes angry if I do not get her alcohol. I buy it and she keeps it on her room, I don’t see the bottle until she leaves it empty by the trash. It’s a struggle none the less, but I pray and stay away. Stay the course you got this and your not alone
It went better than expected I found some no -alcoholic wine and rum which is exciting . But I never thought I’d be peer pressured to drink my my parents
Make sure it doesn’t set you off. Pay attention to you and how you feel.try and find a program .on line.
Have you thought about telling your dad how hard it is for you? I would never be able to do that without temptation. I find being honest with my loved ones about my boundaries to be critical in recovery. If it is a risky place to be, set a boundary and make it known. Best of luck to you!
This is not a conversation I am ready to have with my family. Yesterday my parents were telling how hard it was for them with me being trans and why couldn’t I let them digest that before giving them anything else ( talking about me being poly and having a partner with another partner)
