That’s awesome that you quit after one. I drank tonight myself. Here is to a new sober day tomorrow!

lol sometimes that works best for people. AA really isn’t my thing. I’ve tried it a few times. This is day 1 for me. I hope I can make it through without caving.

I am too! I am so ready for no hangovers, better sleep and a clearer head!

Outpatient detox is helping me, 21 days. I’m 5 days sober.

You got this!

I drank the first day! :frowning: try again today.

If you’re serious and you really want to quit call your doctor and make and appointment tell him/her the truth. You may need medication or medical detox to safety stop. Then give AA another chance. It’s never for you if you’re not ready. Millions of us have gotten sober in AA. You just have to really want sobriety and if you can’t stay sober for just one day you need help.

AA isn’t for me because of religion part. It doesn’t matter what or who the hp is, religion is still a big part. Just because aa isn’t for me doesn’t mean I don’t want to be sober.

Mmm

Today was day 1 n I got thru it..even hit the gym to help w anxiety..we got this

Find a meeting

Renee, I didn’t do AA either. You don’t have to believe in God/be religious but I will tell you, you might be losing out on some great people and support in a time when you need it the most. I know it’s not for everyone, but consider what you can get out of it. I didn’t do it for the same reasons and now looking back I think it might have made the struggle easier when I left rehab. There definitely are people there that share your views.

I have the SAME issues with it, but pop in to meetings every now and then just to be around people that share the same struggles. At the end of the day, I am there because I don't want to drink. If someone's opinion is that you HAVE to find a higher power and HAVE to work steps or you are doomed.. well, that's their opinion and that is apparently what they needed to get sober. I have also been attending SMART recovery meetings lately.
