Good morning friends let me ask y'all a question this morning.
Fear, what is fear doing to you in your life today?

This is a raw, meaningful question, Amanda. I appreciate the opportunity to use it as a way to analyze myself this morning.

Fear used to run my life. It kept me stuck in cycles, chasing validation, tolerating less than I deserved, numbing instead of healing.

Today, fear still whispers.. especially around abandonment and not being chosen.. but it doesn’t get the final say anymore.

Now I try to let fear show me where I still need to grow instead of letting it decide who I am. One day at a time. :purple_heart:

Thank you maxci,
And wow that's so wonderful thank you for sharing with me.
It's so incredible how in addiction how we let fear completely take over our lives and make is get stuck.
And in our sobriety we use fear as a tool so we don't get stuck.
Always work through that fear never let it get us stuck again

Right on sister Maxci! Sobriety has been so much more than abstinence. It’s about growth. Learning to be aware and feel emotions. Learning how to rewire those old unhealthy thinking patterns, so that we have a choice on how to proceed. Fear is a big one. It’s an everyday challenge to overcome.

Absolutely, Lee! Growth is uncomfortable, but I’d rather be uncomfortable and evolving than numb and stuck. Learning to respond instead of react has changed everything.

the BB tells us how to deal with our fears. writing them out in my 4th step is helpful. answering all the questions helps me understand them.

Coming from someone who has battled fear my entire life in one way or another, I can honestly say that if I had not gone to therapy, fear would still be dominating my life. Finding myself in sobriety, therapy, and real self discovery changed that. Fear no longer controls me. Today I love myself in my recovery, and I also know that some fear is healthy. We are not immune to it, and for me it pushes me to stay aware and work harder.
