Good morning. I hope your day is full of blessings.

Lately, I’ve been allowing the monster in my head to lead me away from the positive thoughts and the good things in my life. I’ve been letting it beat me down into a place of submission, listening to the negative voice instead of the one that reminds me that everything is going to be alright and that I’m going to be okay.

I’ve been isolating myself from the people who love me and truly care about me. I push people away and sometimes cut them out of my life because I think that’s my way of coping. But deep down, I know that isn’t the truth. I know the monster in my head is lying to me.

Recovery has taught me that I don’t have to believe every thought that enters my mind. I don’t have to fight every battle alone, and I don’t have to let fear, pain, or my past control the person I’m becoming. Sometimes the strongest thing I can do is reach out, talk to someone, pray, and allow the people who love me to be there for me.

My faith reminds me that even when I can’t see a way forward, God is still there. Hope reminds me that this moment isn’t the end of my story. Love reminds me that I’m not alone.

So today, I’m choosing to listen to the voice that says, “Keep going. It’s going to be okay.”

One day at a time. One step at a time. I’m going to keep fighting, keep believing, keep praying, and keep choosing recovery.

The monster in my head may be loud, but it doesn’t get the final say. I do.

And today, I choose faith. I choose hope. I choose love. I choose life.

Much love

You got this, man. We can do this. “No reserves. No retreats. No regrets.”
