Good morning - I’m looking for advice. I don’t enjoy reading books or religious gatherings, and have been to one too many A.A meetings. I have a huge amount of respect for people that continue to give back. As they say “variety is the spice of life”. Not sure about the “meet up” groups. looking for advice on where to find fellowship.
I'm not a religious person myself, but I did enjoy the one time I found myself at a Unitarian Universalist "church." I'm not sure if that's the right term. Basically it was just a gathering of people from all faiths/beliefs systems, all walks of life, lifting each other up. "The free and responsible search for truth and meaning" was their thing. They had a guest speaker who talked about his journey from homelessness to working for NASA. The members were very involved in community service and seemed to take more liberal stances on social issues (which I identify with). Might be worth checking out if you have a fellowship near you.
