Good morning! It’s been just over 10 months of sobriety

Good morning!! It’s been just over 10 months of sobriety and a very crazy journey for me. I love my sobriety and I’m so glad I made the choice to finally ask for help and LET others in recovery help me. Thankful for that gift of desperation I did not know was such a huge gift in the very beginning. It’s what finally got me to surrender. For anyone new or thinking they might have a problem…I want you to know you are WORTH IT!!! No matter how far down this disease has carried you. There are people that really care and want to help you be that person you know deep down inside you truly are meant to be. I had to really put myself in a protective bubble for the first few months and learned to be gentle with myself. It was so hard to pick up that phone and ask for help but I’m so thankful I did. I did this with the help of AA which I never wanted to do because I believed it didn’t work. But I found it’s the only thing that has helped me really work on my healing and growth throughout this journey. This is a disease of the mind I truly believe. One of my favorite slogans in AA that I didn’t understand at first was”we come for our drinking and stay for our thinking” Now that my obsession with alcohol and using substances to keep myself numb has completely lifted I stay to work on my thinking and for healing of my mind, body and spirit. I posted a before and after picture and while I see a difference in the picture it’s what you don’t see that is the true miracle. I actually love myself and care about putting my best foot forward one day at a time. I hope you find peace and recovery too❤‍🩹 on the left I was miserable and totally powerless and could not find a way out of the self destruction I was in. On the right, 9 months sober and feeling like myself again Finally:heartpulse: thanks for reading :heartpulse:

Wow!
Great post.
I'm so happy for you!
It sounds like you're trudging the road of happy destiny!

I can tell by the way you worded your post that you have a good sponsor and your working the program the way it was meant to be worked.

You get out of it what you put into it and you certainly are a shining example of that. Keep doing what you're doing and always remember that the circus is still in town.

That is so amazing to hear! You're really doing the deal! It's amazing what happens when we fully surrender and follow the steps and suggestions of those who came before us. So one day, we can pass it on to those who come after us. Keep up that great work! God is good!
