Good morning, my virtual friends! I started my day outside again, sitting with my coffee on my little concrete patio. I’m grateful that I’m sober today, and that I haven’t let the threatening triggers get to me. I saw a cardinal outside hopping around just a few feet from me, and a couple jays sitting on the stump by the dirt driveway. I saw a squirrel fall from a brach about a foot onto the garage rooftop. I can only assume his/her balance was thrown of by his/her BMI, because this thing was HUGE. I’m enjoying the peace, the sounds of the crows a few yards down, yammering about God knows what, and I sent some gratitude up to my higher power for my clarity, my inner strength during adversity, and my perseverance. It’s a good day to stay sober. Now I have to dip about 70 cake pops before my morning meeting. Sending hugs to all.
That’s my morning to a “T”. Sit outside every morning. Wake up, say my hello, and check out nature. Calming.
It is! It’s astonishing to me how much I allowed to pass me by during the time when I was actively drinking. Looking at the world through a sober mind is like meditation, it’s like I can feel the world waking up, my senses are heightened and I feel more alive. My mind is calm and I feel ready to accept life on life’s terms. I like this. I think I’ll stay this way.
It’s a great way to start everyday. Gets you centered. My morning wake up hello to my higher power helps the most tho. Knowing I’m not alone throughout the day is the coolest feeling of all. Kind of a feeling of invincibility. I’m not one who believes in this free will stuff. Just one will and it sure ain’t mine. Mine gets me in trouble. Turning over all the daily problems to another is the best medicine for me.
P.S. not a religious freak tho. Just connected. To each their own path
Absolutely. I’ve probably mentioned before that my higher power is my dearly beloved and departed musicians (for the most part). This morning it was Chris Cornell.
Lol. Good tunes
So awesome
Thank you! It’s only a matter of time before these ‘coffee and outside’ morning posts start getting really old for everyone….
