Gooooooood Mooooorning Loosid!

I love this quote! I love being unique. I live to inspire others to live a healthy life. Live your life to the fullest. Always compete with you and you only. Winning is about helping others. From the smallest gesture like opening up a door to giving someone you love a hug! Do the next best right thing. Allow God of your understanding into your life. You will see a difference. You will make a difference.
Have a wonderful day filled with love and peace within my sober family! I love each and everyone of you!

I remind myself frequently I am my own arch nemesis. I must beat myself to succeed.

If that works for you for now. I’d like to see a switch instead of beating one’s self up, we take a more compassionate approach and build our self esteem up with positive energy and thoughts. Tell yourself; I can achieve greatness, I am responsible, I will complete the task at hand.
With this practiced discipline comes great reward. Enjoy this day my friend.

That's right!

My competitive nature makes everything a competition. I am in competing with my bad side. I have to win.

I see. I can say for me I was once at that stage in my life and more so in very early recovery. Today G0d is the one that has removed the urges to drink, to compete with others and all negative thoughts. I will at times compete with myself as in to be a better version of myself then the day before.
You’re doing great each day you stay sober. Stay focused on happy thoughts and when the negative ones appear let them pass and shift focus towards compassion for thy self.

I like how you worded this. I’d love to develop that mindset. Did this take practice for you? What kind of self talk may you have worked on? Any particular things or conversations you had with God to help you in developing this mindset?

Good afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to read my post and respond. This process I’ve been working on has been a little over 21 months. I’m not perfect. The first thing I had to do was stay sober long enough to get some clarity. Alcoholics Anonymous is a huge role in my life today. In the beginning most of my help was from Kasier mental and chemical dependency hospital. I did lots of group therapy, out patient program, and 30 day residential treatment. In treatment it was mandatory to go to church every Sunday. You didn’t have to go in the auditorium but I did. To this day I believe it was angel guardian who give me the willpower to go inside and listen to the pastor. There was live music before and a great message was heard each Sunday I attended. We had AA big book study on Sunday nights at 7pm. The guy that read and explained the big book to us was amazing. I had read the book on my own prior to him coming in but it was much better at that time fit me to read along to better understand the text. I found a higher power in treatment and called it GUS, Great Universal Spirit. This was my turning point in my recovery. I didn’t understand G0d at that time. And I saw what this fellow had and I wanted it bad. He could speak to us with such confidence and compassion about the program. He told us how shitty his life was before and how beautiful it is now all from working the steps of AA. Since then I’ve expanded my mindset with the following; DBT skills for Kaiser and therapy. I was taking meds to help stabilize my emotions. Basically flatlined them. Which was what I needed at that time. I’m currently not taking any meds. I continue to work my program and thee program of AA.
I use the prayers that are outlined in AA each morning, night and when times are tough. It’s simply to train ourselves to respond and not react to every situation. Taking a deep breath in counting to 4, holding for 1 count and exhaling for a count of 6 repeated as needed to calm the mind. This helps change my chemical balance of mind and body.

I’m reading lots of spiritual books.
I’m learning to see the message from the spiritual world. I try my best to get out of the material world when I can. I use different apps throughout my day. I love to help others. I journal each morning with a gratitude list, a manifestation list and whatever else is on my mind.
I’m training my thought process to treat all people as if they were sick with cancer. I do this as to help aid my response mechanism. It’s easy for me to be selfish and go off the handle over something as a misunderstanding. I have a disease of perception, an allergy to alcohol, obsession of the mind.
I’m currently working with my sponsor on my 4th step. The 12 step process will restore me to sanity and to become a valuable citizen. We must never stop growing. Become at peace with all that’s around us. We can only change us.
