First one was 9.5 years ago, 2nd one was last week. I have court in 3 months and by mandatory law in Canada, I will be sentenced to a minimum 30 days in jail for 2nd offence.
Anyone been in this situation? I've officially hit my rock bottom.
You mean to tell us, that based on the laws on the northern side of the fence, you learned nothing 9.5 years ago?
We'll look at it this way at least you'll come out 30 days sober.... hopefully.
Been there! 5 years ago I spent 48 days in jail for my 3rd DUI (mine was also just under 10 years away from my previous one)...So I was charged with a felony. I spent 2 years in the court system (backed up due to Covid) and went to jail sober, healthy and mentally strong. It was still tough, but it's over with. I've now had my felony dropped, no driving restrictions, and feel better than ever. Go in strong, keep your chin up (literally) and shoulders back. I walked 3 hours a day while listening to music that kept me going. Seriously, you'll get through it
Why would you even comment about not learning? Relapse is part of recovery. Our brains are not working with our frontal lobe when intoxicated. It is inappropriate for you to comment in a negative, unsupportive way on this forum.
God uses all things for his good try to learn from it and keep on trucjing
Also, don't assume her details...I was not drinking when charged for one of mine (had taken a prescribed sleeping medication 16 hours prior that showed up in a blood draw-was pulled over for speeding, had a panic attack and he thought I was "acting funny"), second one I was NOT driving, but had my car keys in my purse and within 40 ft of my car (got me for "intent to drive"). Please don't assume, I know God wouldn't
I was sober for many years after but thanks. Why are you in a support group with that chip on your shoulder
No just being supportive to those who are contemplating going out and blowing their sobriety. Some people need to learn from the mistakes of others.
Whether drinking or under medication... You elected to operate a weapon (motor vehicle).
Hopefully when you obtain as much of sobriety and life experience you will understand the point that is being made.
If you get sentenced to 30 days of incarceration when you get out you'll have, hopefully, 30 days of sobriety. 30 days is 30 days you didn't have. I wish you luck.
No chip just providing a glimpse of reality.
I wish you luck.
