Got my vivitrol shot yesterday! Working on day 6 and it’s already after 7! No side effects and feeling really optimistic. It worked so well for me last time. I’m working really hard to change my habits and start including healthier ones. I’m finally getting some strength and energy back. It’s crazy how long it takes the body to heal. Last night was the first semi-decent night of sleep I’ve had.
I’m so hopeful for the future and just want so badly to stay sober. I never want to go back to the animal I was when I drank. One day at a time. Tomorrow I’ll be working on one week!

Yay!! Starting the vivitrol shots was a complete game changer for me. With vivitrol taking away the horrible "Jonesing" and urges for opiates, I was able to work through the physical and emotional stuff on a much healthier level. Personally, I think everyone coming out of rehab should be started on the vivitrol program. There would be considerably less relapses. More people would be able to get on a program and successfully stay sober. Vivitrol is a miracle drug. For anyone that it not familiar with vivitrol...there are no opioids in vivitrol. It is not addictive. I know bc I have gone off of it. For me, it was too early so I went back to continue the shots. You get it once a month....

Love hearing good things about it. I did it once before for a month but couldn’t get again due to insurance; but that was the best month I had had. I’m so thankful insurance will pay for it now so I don’t have to come off of it until I’m ready. I really feel like it’s helping so much
