Grateful for 1 month!

I am 1 month AF. I turn 27 on Thursday, and am excited for the start of the rest of my sober life.

I’m grateful I started this journey now rather than enter another year of my life in the same cycle.

27 is a bittersweet year for me.

10 yrs exactly since the start of my first rounds with substance abuse.

I will not lose another decade to this disease.

I can’t wait to celebrate 10yrs sober for my 37th birthday. :purple_heart:

Congrats on your first month! You made it through the hardest part. If you are anything like me, it’s way easier to abstain then it is to quit. I’m currently several months clean from a year long relapse. And it’s scary how fast that year of using dope flew by. No more wasted life. Happy pre birthday.

quitting is definitely the hardest part. Each day seems to get a little easier. Some days are still a huge struggle but nothing like the initial cut off.

That's so great, Ema. I remember when you posted on day 1 or 2. Look at you now. Better, huh?

It’s definitely better! It’s definitely a weird experience. I’m feeling more, and that comes with it’s own struggle but it’s better. Worth it!
