Watched it for the first time like a week ago! I was immersed the whole time but when it ended I said out loud: “what the fck did I just watch???”

Deservingly so. I had no idea this one film redefined a genre so greatly it’s direct influence can still be seen for 55 years later. Incredible.

Best theater experience of my life. It felt like I was going to fall into the screen. Unbelievably mind-boggling this was created before man even landed on the moon.

Absolutely!
Kubricks work in that film was visually stunning considering the technology available. Story wise, it’s visionary. Both Clark and Roddenberry were visionary’s. AI is depicted 50 years early!
