Grateful for giving myself another chance

Last year I had 7 months sobriety until a simple mistake at a bday party was the catalyst to drink. Grateful to understand that my greatest temptation doesn’t come in hard times but in happy, complacent times. Remaining sober is a lifetime vigil for my health, self respect and sanity.

Remaining sober is an endless journey of exploring a new version of ourselves and learning to navigate life without being altered. I don’t know what my greatest temptation is, but it seems like it’d be to escape pain.

I am sending you so much support and encouragement.

Spot on. I drank to celebrate, drank to de-stress, drank to cure boredom, you name it. Complacency is one of the top character traits us wildlings always have to be on top of. But, when we are on top of it, it’s amazing where our lives take us.
