Grateful the my employer gives me professional development opportunities like coming to Memphis for a conference. I'm proud of myself for getting out if my comfort zone, connecting with other professionals and gaining valuable connections, ideas and perspectives. Also grateful I can listen to my own needs. After a day of learning and socializing I decided to skip the happy hour and networking dinners tonight. Not just because of all the drinking, but I also feel I need some me time to relax, digest everything I learned today and be ready for another information packed day tomorrow. I'm thankful to have a lot more self awareness now be and to do what's best for me vs. feeling obligated to follow an agenda or what I assume is expected of me.

Well done! I always hatred the “optional” happy hour after meetings.

Thanks! Fortunately social drinking settings aren't typically a trigger for me - but after an entire day of socializing I was burnt out on people haha
