I'm grateful for having the chance to start over with a new career in a field where I can help people who are in the same situation I was in just a few years ago. I'm grateful for those experiences so I can empathize with the addict who is sleeping under the bridge and putting themselves in dangerous situations for drugs, and to be able to understand both the desperation and hopelessness that comes with that lifestyle.
But most of all I am grateful to be sober today almost 3 years after 20 years of getting high and drunk, and for my higher power, for wirh my higher power all things are possible.
