Grateful for the ability to not have a desire to pick up the bottle.. it’s been less than a week but it feels incredible
Hang in there David. It's gonna get ugly again at some point. Get to some meetings and make some good sober connections so that when it dies get ugly, youre ready and you have people to reach out to.
I’ve downloaded a ton of sobriety apps.. I do zoom meetings almost all day. I’ve been doing a physical meeting a day for the last three days. Am I doing too much? I hope I don’t burn out early and end up relapsing hard. What are your thoughts on this
?
That's a really good question. I think it is super important to establish some in person connections, for me this has made all the difference. Some people within the group that are solid that you can talk to and that you feel comfortable with. Try to seek out people woth something that you respect, that has their sobriety down, not just their rap down. Someone who will tell you what you need to hear, not what you wanna hear, when things get funky.
Maybe get your in person stuff down, then fill in gaps where you need to with all the online stuff?
Thanks a bunch Taylor.. sound advice.. it’s only been a short while but it already feels like months.. I don’t think I’ve been challenged yet by being around people at get togethers which is coming up soon but I think I’m gonna be okay
..
Bring a sober buddy with you, maybe?
