This Summer I've had back to back work gigs, keeping me busy and taking care of my finances - all because I still have a lot of people who find me to be a trustworthy person.
Looking back to when I drank, I didn't trust me and can't imagine why anyone else did. I acted out of anger and selfishness and intentionally mislead and mistreated people. I'm grateful that I didn't completely ruin my reputation. Many friends never even knew my struggles because I'm so good at just disappearing when things get out of control.
When I'm sober I'm far more frequently in control of my emotions.
I'm grateful for that too.
