As I reflect on this past year I cannot help but think where I was a year ago on this day……I woke up in the ICU with 3 brain bleeds, barely able to talk, walk and wires all over my body. By gods grace I started my sober journey…..I spent 9 days in the ICU….went to detox, then an in patient rehab for the 3rd time in the last two years.
After that, I went into sober living, started an intensive outpatient program. The road hasn’t been easy and far from over. But during this time I have finished my 12 steps, made huge strides on my career, built a relationship with my son and family that I did not have before. I am able to continue to grow each day with the help of my god. It all can be done. I still make mistakes and I am far from perfect. But I am very grateful for where I am, for what I have accomplished and making it through a day at a time. God bless.
