Gratefulness

Sometimes self-care means driving for 7 hours through snow and traffic to see a friend you’ve not spent time with in 8 months to remind you that you’ve been burying yourself in stress. Then drive another 2 hours south to see your best friend and another sober friend.

I’m so grateful for this break and reminder that I needed new energy to revive myself.

Heck yes! Here's to putting effort into the things that are holistically good for us and for the people we love and not to destroy our body and minds!

Exactly. Recovery and treating my body and mind like I respect it and working on my recovery daily while chugging a gallon of water each day is totally better than destroying myself.

This message is telling me I too need a break and go for a drive or a plane flight somewhere!
