I just wanted to express gratitude for gratitude lists. I always laughed at these. I’m hindsight they carried me out of my low depressions. They work better than any medications I tried. Medications did not remove the true problem - self thought and selfishness. Gratitude lists, when shared with another person or persons, are intensely healing. Retraining my brain by doing this did not seem like it would help. But it does. We cannot fix a broken brain with a broken brain. The disease will fight the idea of doing anything that will destroy it. I can now allow bad feelings and anger to exist and, when I’m ready to help them exit, call a newcomer, make a gratitude list or go to a meeting and do unrecognized service. I am so grateful that I am the least important person in my life today. I get to build up others and see where I can help today. This is all very new
