Great memory!
The Greatest gifts?
One of my treasures from Christmas past came from a 10 yr old boy named Cole. I met Cole many years ago he was a neighborhood kid lived with his mother and sisters. I asked his mother if it would be ok for Cole to help on Saturday mornings. I didn’t know what to do with this kid my son was already grown and well in his thirties at that time. I prayed and asked what am I supposed to do with this 10yr. Old boy? He would help me with yard work and we would go to the “Man store” Mendard’s on Saturday mornings. He seemed to enjoy jumping in the jeep and just running around. I was wondering if I was teaching him anything? I asked him one Saturday Cole do you know the rules to success? I wasn’t sure I knew so I made some up. I gave him three rules one each Saturday. Rule One get there early. Next Saturday he came 15min. Early. Rule Two work hard. That Saturday he was very helpful.Rule Three have a good attitude. That Saturday he was very optimistic. We had a good time learning from each other that summer/ fall. It was Christmas time and Cole’s mother called and said he has a gift that he made for me. I wasn’t sure what to expect but he came over and handed me a box. I realized that the most valuable thing you can give someone is your time And the impact it leaves with others.
