H.a.l.t

This was mentioned earlier in a recent post so I wanted to share my take on it. I can honestly say that in sobriety I embrace and appreciate those traits now.

In my drinking career I was never really Hungry, I barely cared to eat as the whiskey curbed that.

If I was Angry and I'm sure I was, it didn't really matter much because I either blacked out or forgot about it the next day once I reaquainted with the bottle.

Lonely ... hells no, I was the life of the party talking to anyone at bars and buying rounds.

Tired not so much that I remember because I passed out every night and never did I say I was too tired to go out.

So yes I am grateful for having the wherewithal to crave food, embrace and have emotions, be at peace with just some "me-time" and appreciate being tired and getting a good night's rest knowing I put in a day's work in my sobriety.

Just my 4 cents
