Had nearly a year sober. Back to four days. Feel like a failure.
Try not to feel as you failed in the slightest. You are still wanting to get and stay sober and that was s what matters most. To heck with the hater and shamers. You get out there and kick glutinousmaximous by golly and start fresh with more awareness and depth than before.
That's always kind of a go-to for us right? That we slip and we think we're a failure. But we aren't. We're fallible human beings. And the fact that you recognized the situation and start it over makes you a winner in my book. Be kind to yourself. I have traveled the exact same road that you are on. And many people here can commiserate with those exact same circumstances.
I had nearly a year and did the same thing. I just went 2 weeks and here I am having a drink tonight. This disease is unrelentness.
I am not defined by my relapses, but by my decision to remain in recovery despite them.
It just happen to me also. 4 days sober currently. All you have is now and tomorrow. Focus on the positives. You got right back to it. I called my sponsor and got to meetings. Try not to beat yourself up. You will climb back just need to want it. My mistake, I stopped going to meetings and talking to a sober community. Went back to my old ways.
You have good experience behind you, Laura, welcome back 🫂
You feel like a failure but you look like a human. Deep breath!
