Had to make the hardest choice I have had to

Had to make the hardest choice I have had to make in my sobriety. I had to let go of the love of my life. She was there at the beginning of my sobriety. She was there standing by my side through everything.Taught me the feeling of love and how to love. She kept me from killing myself in the beginning. She pushed me and helped me become the person I am today. I moved back to my home town to be with my kids. I can’t put my kids through me leaving again now that I have them back in my life. I so desperately want to be with her, but I don’t think I have the right to disappoint my kids again.

Thanks for the kind words. I have been sober for almost 5 years. She has been there the whole time. We live 1200 miles away from each other. I offered to go visit a lot. Try to see her as much as I can. Work something, anything out. She says it’s too hard for her not to be with me. She has kids also, so no moving to see me. She said if I came back she would do every other Christmas with my kids. She said this time apart showed her what I mean to her. I just feel like I’m the only one giving anything up. I want to be with her but I believe that I’m being selfish just to be happy for myself. I won’t put my daughters through that again. I left for almost 5 years to get clean. They don’t deserve that again. I didn’t ask for this and either did they. I tried to figure something out but she won’t even talk to me in depth about it. It’s not fair in my eyes. I pray that we will meet up once again. For she will be in my heart and soul for the rest of my life.

She also gave up a lot to be there for you. In your time of need.

I understand that completely. That’s why I’m completely twisted about this

Thank you for your response. I really appreciate it

I am twisted into a ball of anxiety, stress and constant thinking with a very similar situation but I am at the beginning stage... I think you were just the help I needed to make a decision... And take action and stop worrying and people pleasing and acting selfish and go back to my kids... Thank you...

I am happy that my situation could help someone. I hope you the best and you will be in my prayers

YIPES!!! Ridiculously familiar with the feelings. Currently trying to manage a relationship! Constantly being hit with choose them or me...my KIDS always come first! I always realize that without my sobriety everything goes away! Stay strong ....PRAYERS! GRACE! O2-28-2OO2

I’m praying that God keeps me safe. I know eventually everything will be as God wants it. I pray for her as well. Hopefully we meet again because I believe with all of my heart she is my soulmate. I heard a song the other day called Right girl wrong time
