Half way through day 2! I normally don’t post anything

Half way through day 2! I normally don’t post anything about myself but I like this in that it holds me accountable. Does anyone have suggestions for use who are just starting our journey?

I’m halfway through day 2, too. Want to write each other once a day to keep us on the right path? Just a thought.

I would like that! How’s your day 2 so far?

So far so good, but I’m anxious that tomorrow I’ll say “screw it”, make an excuse, and impulsively go get some. But I also feel way more committed this time. How’s your second day?

I’m also just trying to keep busy.

It’s going good! I know it will get harder and harder but it’s time. I can’t keep going like this so it’s got to stick. I feel like it’s all around me so I am going to stay home and maybe finish projects that I keep putting off until i’m more stable with my sobriety. I’m trying trying to plan more that way I can keep myself out of impulsive situations. Whatever that means!

Go to meetings. Stay focused. Stay away from people that are not sober. Go to meetings!

Congrats on day 2!!

Me too. I’m going to journal, exercise, color, do errands, clean, and whatever else I need to do to get through this. I’m DONE.

Same. Keep busy!

Honestly I'm almost a year in and still don't trust myself. I just get through one day sober and then move on to the next day. Looking too far ahead is difficult for me. But I'm feeling great and enjoying my life so much more. Best of luck

Focus on each day and just commit to not drinking or using for that day. Go to at least one meeting (live or Zoom, that's not too much) and find a temporary or permanent sponsor (temp if you dont find a permanent right away). DO WHAT YOU'RE TOLD. Swallow your pride and just play follow the leader for the first few months.

As long as you can hit the pillow sober every night, you call call that a win! The longest journey starts with one step. Get up and make day 3 know you mean business!

Well, have either of you decided to get to a meeting? If you want this to happen, please get to a meeting.

Congratulations on day two. Keep up the good work. Remember a day at a time. Use the resources and reach out if you need a hand up.
