Was kicked out of my halfway house yesterday because after a random room search, a staff member found Benadryl in one of my bags. I detoxed on my own, spent 25 days in a CSS program, graduated from that program, & went to a halfway house last Monday. I was there 6 days and the Benadryl was found a few days ago. They waited until Saturday, when no clinical was present, to tell me I was being discharged. This system is so broken and addicts are treated like dookie wherever we go. What’s the fairness in that? I didn’t even open the Benadryl.. what’s the point in staying sober when for every step forward I take, I take 30 back?
