Happy 420 🤨

If your asking in general, that’s a good go to question. If you’re asking me, I don’t smoke to begin with, so spiritually it is! :raised_hands:

Always :raised_hands:

I think it’s still addicting behavior. Like when you go to an AA meeting and people are chain smoking and pounding coffee. Seems kinda hypocritical but I don’t judge, I just don’t drink. That’s what alcoholism is for me

I’d smoked my weight twice over by the time I was 22. I have no real interest in it anymore. That being said…whatever works for you(the individual). If you can moderate one to keep you from abusing the other, why the h*ll not? Do what works for you to stay happy, healthy, and productive. The hypocrisy over some substances vs others just is what it is. There’s a lot to unpack there.

You mean to tell me that there are actual studies out there that say marijuana cures alcoholism?!! Or close to it? You gotta be kidding me.

SMH. Ok then.

Lol nope for me being sober is staying away from booze and drugs . I used to grow weed and smoke like crazy . Nothing changed in me till I surrender completely and got a sponsor and work the 12 steps of recovering also helping others. That’s sober living

I used weed to get off opiates. I’m currently ā€œColorado soberā€, weed only, but find that the addictive behavior is still problematic for me. I have to be very conscious of making sure those habits don’t control me. I would like to quit for good, but have chronic pain and would rather smoke weed than take a handful of prescription pills everyday. I think about this a lot because I travel for work and have to adapt my recovery and pain management strategies to the laws of my current location.

I decided Sobriety for me meant doing life without any mind altering substances. Before I got serious about getting sober, I always felt like I would be ā€œmissing outā€ on some thing if I wasn’t using pot or alcohol or both. I have come to realize quite acutely that the only thing I am missing is my life if I’m using—not missing a thing by NOT using. Sobriety is offering me me the gift of being fully present and sitting with all of my emotions whether it’s a good day or bad day.

That makes a lot of sense to me. Thank you for sharing from one’s perspective. :raised_hands:

I agree!! I am in the same boat. I am better off without any substance and will forever be. Though I do not care for some things I have to face, and as much as I hate saying it, I’d rather face them sober! Addiction only makes ya feel ā€œgoodā€ for so long. And, it’s not even a true good! Love your story! Thank you

I tried smoking weed to replace booze but it just wasn’t for me.

I ate some gummies once (and way too much of them, might I add lol) to see if that was a better fit...needless to say, it was worse. Its a Tough pill to swallow (no pun intended) but Ive got to just accept that substances are not for me and that my body simply doesnt like them.

That happened to me once when I tried mushrooms for the first (and LAST) time. :joy::woman_facepalming: I agree though, substances just aren’t for me either.

I live in a legal medical state. I had and alcohol and benzo addiction. Insomnia was a MAJOR problem for me. I’m honest with my doctor and HE recommended MJ for sleep because of my previous addictions. I trust my doctor. I only use before bed.

Exactly, be honest with your doctor and follow their advice. Sponsors and people in the rooms do not know your medical history and are not doctors. They should not be giving medical advice.

Yes, and those ā€œpeopleā€ are not doctors.

Love the photo of you and your dog :+1:enjoy your day my friend
