Happy Thanksgiving day all

Today to me this day is our nation’s most sacred day. To most it’s a story about pilgrims coming to this land and celebrating a feast with the indigenous people of the land. However, if you notice my name, my middle name is a family name pasted down through many generations from a gentleman name William Bradford. He was the actual first governor of those people on land and every year he would hold elections for over 30 years to remain so. Something we still do to this day.
They get a bad rap in my mind because they didn’t come to this land to spread their diseases and faith. They came here to get away from the Protestant movement spreading across Europe. They were prosecuted for not following that god most follow today, the trinity god. They didn’t believe in it. In fact, my forefather read the Hebrew Bible of that day because he believed it to be the closest to God at the time. His tombstone has Hebrew written at its top. He helped create this country’s oldest university Harvard and required students to learn that book to graduate. Modern times took that away of course. The “separatists” were not trinity god followers. They came later.
Anyway, he did love the people of this land and for many years they were friends. It was the trinity god “Christian’s” who came later where the true story got changed. After all, to the victors goes history.
Everyone stay sober today and enjoy this day’s meaning…love each other no matter what. Our world needs more of this and to me, this day represents it. Family is the glue that holds mankind together and today is all about family.
