Happy Update

So the other day, I asked for advice on going to my best friends party. Again, they didn't know about my journey, so soon as I came in, they asked what i was drinking and poured me a shot. I declined and told everyone i was not drinking anymore. My best friend looked at me, smiled and proceeded to make me a mocktail. No question asked. No one asked me to take a shot and everyone respected my decision. I still had a blast and did not think about drinking one time. I feel really good right now and even more so because my friends support me and my journey.

If your new in sobriety I would definitely limit your interactions with drinking parties. Great that they respect your decision and weren't pushy. Maybe ya'll can do some stuff without drinking together. Much love

Yay! That's a best friend right there. I bet she was so stinking, happy to make you a mocktail. Think of the fun you can have and the creations you can make together. Lol, I would have the fanciest cup where it's enviable. Throw in a personal mini umbrella just for you.

Me too  let's not lose that

That is such a win. You honored your boundaries and your friends honored them too, which says a lot about the people in your circle. Proud of you!
