Hardest thing I've been dealing with being sober almost 2 months now is being alone

I’m the same Jeremiah. Almost 2 months and also alone. But, know what…. It’s ok. It’s giving me time to take care of me and find out who I am and what I want.

I won't lie to you man if there is a downside to sobriety it's loneliness. Finding a community of people who are experiencing sobriety is well is very helpful. I found a home group that I attend almost every day and I believe it's made a huge difference for me. Sobriety is a noble, albeit sometimes lonely cause. You'll really get to know yourself. Keep at it, it's worth it.

I agree with you. Try to get a recovery group together maybe from meetings (if you do them). I feel the same way I feel like the black sheep of my family even though there is alcoholism in my family. I haven’t seen most of my family since my recovery began in October of 2020. I prefer not too because every occasion has to include alcohol even and I honestly don’t trust myself. I go to meetings and have met a few people from my area that I talk to daily, but when your family isn’t there for you, it’s lonely. We all need each other for sure.

My family has turned their backs on me as well. I had a bad relapse in September with consequences I'll be paying for a while... a long while. It has been eye opening. I am absolutely and completely alone now. I don't even have any friends to talk to. This is a first in life for me.
