Has anybody ever been prescribed gabapentin for anxiety ? If so how did it make you feel?

So it helps with anxiety after quitting drinking you would say?
That’s what somebody had told me before that it isn’t for anxiety and they never heard it used for that. That’s why I’ve been so skeptical taking it.
I have hydroxyzine too. I never took it cause I have anxiety about taking the medication
I don’t want to feel weird or out of place .
And def don’t want to feel depressed
I def feel a little more comfy taking the hydroxyzine then gabapentin. Thank you for responding !
I was prescribed it for a year after quitting drinking / using benzodiazepines. It does help with anxiety for long term not short term effect. It raises your dopamine to help with anxiety when stopping drinking.
I am trying to get my dr to prescribe me gabapentin for anxiety. It works really well for my brother and my sister.
I take it and i feel like my life depends on it. I can go about my day with little to no anxiety which is great for me. And i don’t drink or use which is a miracle.
Really ? I have been super nervous to take mine because I have anxiety to take the medication 


Really ?! I have to medication I just been to nervous to take it because I keep hearing mixed reviews. I don’t want to feel weird when I take it cause that just causes more anxiety

I was on gabapentin for a few years. I had a brain scan done that was coming back abnormal because of all the years of drinking alcohol. I kept on having lapses of confusion from time to time and they were interfering with my job.
After taking the Gabapentin for a few years everything seemed to balance out and the neurologist took me off the Gabapentin. The brain scans started to come back normal again.

I haven’t been on it but I hear it works well for some. Just monitor how you feel if you decide to take it. Good luck
