I am on it now and I feel great. Only been on it for a week so far.
Oh gosh I def donāt want to feel like that.
Really ? Has it helped you a lot with cravings
Thereās a program call Alcoholics Anonymous, worked wonders for me once I worked it
Yes, it helps a lot. I will always think about using and it just goes away. Keep in mind youāll always have cravings but I really believe it lessen it.
Thank you so much, I was nervous about trying but I think this will be good
Keep chatti ng it out
I was prescribed it when I left the hospital about a year ago. So far it's been working really well for me. There are two different ways of taking it, every day(or once a month with the vivitrol shot) with abstinence only, or 1-2 hours before drinking only on days when you drink(The Sinclair Method).
I've used both methods and they both helped, but taking it every day stopped working quite as well after the first 1-2 months and so I switched to The Sinclair Method. With TSM it was nice not having to deal with the side effects on days that I didn't drink, which made it easier for me to only drink on days when I felt like I absolutely had to. Also with TSM you're specifically targeting and blocking the endorphins and dopamine reward that you get from drinking without blocking the endorphins and dopamine you get on non drinking days from more healthy activities like exercise, music, and socializing. Which helps encourage healthy alternatives to drinking.
It took me about 7.5 months of taking naltrexone, 5 months with TSM, to finally quit. I've now been sober for a little over 4 months and don't take naltrexone anymore since I don't drink and I don't have any cravings to drink.
Iām about to. Properly taken, itās supposed to have a 78% success rate against relapse.
I don't take it never have and I don't judge those who do...It has it's purpose to my understanding, and may work for some and not others. Find out what it really is and if you really need it for your recovery! Keep us posted and best wishes!!

If I was you, I would try it. Itās not a magic pill, but it helps. I donāt have any side effects.
Thereās also another drug called Acamprosate you could check out too. My doc prescribed with naltrexon
Awesome thatās what Iām most scared of the side effects. I also deal with anxiety so Iām extra cautious of everything
Oh my yea they told me not to take with oxy
Thank you
Really?? Iām picking them up tomorrow so wish me luck
Iām happy you finally quit Iām still in the process and being that itās New Yearās Eve itās def hard
Iām confused. Why would you take Naltrexone with Oxy?? Naltrexone is basically Narcan in pill form. And, why are you taking Oxy????
That was my experience as well, Adam. Definitely wasnāt for me.
Me too, Lukeā¦.
