Sending prayers for your situation!

Yes, cps took my two kids from their mom and I. Looking back on the situation I thank god for it now that im sober. They went to live with my mother. It was hard and I drank and drugged over it and other things for 8 more years and so did my kids mom. Today however I am almost 2 years sober and have a relationship with my children. Thank god they were spared the trauma of growing up in a home with two alcoholic/addicts.

I had my daughters removed from my permanent physical custody 12 years ago. I was a stay at home mother during their lifetimes and it's all they knew, or I knew at the time. Thankfully they were raised by my now ex-husband, their father during their young teenage years through early adulthood and in a very loving, solid, safe and familiar environment. My addiction to alcohol and then prescribed pain meds and benzos and uppers got out of hand Soo badly that I lost everything including custody of them at the time. Along with my home, all of my earthly possessions, cars, boats, friends, family, everything. Today after even being homeless and addicted to street drugs throughout the past 10 years, my daughters are both in college and doing very very well. I couldn't ask for anything more than to hopefully be able to regain a relationship with both of them from here forward. Years of bitterness and anger and worst of all loss guilt and emotional pain Soo deep that it nearly killed me.... That and the heavy nonstop street drugs that I used all day every day just to b able to breathe and live w myself.
When you are able to take care of your children in the best way for them and for yourself, do whatever it takes to get them back. Don't waste 12 years of your life, destroy your mind body and soul and even risk your very life for anything. Especially over something like a drug or alcohol which will only make you feel differently for a time being, but when out of control will ruin and destroy everything. Nothing is worth that. Get the true help that you need and that you and your children all deserve before it's too late.

You can reach out to community legal aid or ask CAS if a caseworker can help build a po. They do have freed kill build a plan of action. You’re allowed to fight for your healing and your family. It’s not embarrassing to ask for help lm it’s brave. Here for you.
