Have any of you used yoga, meditation or anything like

Have any of you used yoga, meditation or anything like that to help in staying sober? I've thought it could help but I'd like to know how it helped any of you or what HAS helped! Thank you everyone!

Hi Heather, I use yoga, mindfulness, and meditation among other things to support my recovery. The yoga grounds me and gets me in touch with my body, and also provides endorphins if I do a more invigorating practice. The mindfulness and meditation help center me and train my thoughts, it also brings me back to the present moment and focus on what’s important.

I use meditation everyday. It's really helped calm my anxiety and stress levels. I haven't tried yoga but I go to the gym daily and spend a lot of time outside. All of which have helped me stay in the moment.

I am very much a beginner when it comes to yoga. I do find it very helpful in addition to my 12 step program.

I’ve gotten a lot of benefit from meditation. I think it’s a great way to regain control of your mind. Unfortunately for me it has not really helped with alcohol. It’s only made me more aware and be a higher functioning alcoholic. Yikes.

It’s a term for a person who maintains a job and relationships despite having an addiction disorder.

Haha well not for the last 7 days I have not had a drink. Staying sober is pretty tough for me. I can only go a few weeks tops. Trying again with this community.

Thank you all for your input! I've been looking into both to help. I feel like it'll be a good addition
